What is this?
I read one chapter of a book set in Paris a week and go for a walk in a location from that chapter. I post pictures of my walk and talk about what it was like. I also talk about the chapter I read. If appropriate, I may compare the two.
What if the book doesn't have chapters?
I'll mark off arbitrary chunks by indicating first and last sentences.
What if the book isn't set in contemporary Paris?
The books don't have to be set in modern-day, real life Paris. By force of necessity, the walks will have to be (unless someone wishes to lend me a time machine and/or dimensional portal) so books will only count for this project as long as they have recognisable/identifiable locations.
What's your schedule?
One walk a week, unless I can't.
What if locations repeat/there's more than one?
I don't have to repeat locations if I don't want to. Similarly, if a chapter features more than one location, I can pick which one(s) to go to. The rest of the locations go on a list to draw from when I don't want to repeat a location.
What about people only interested in the bookclub/the Paris pictures?
Anyone is welcome to join in/comment on either aspect at any time, be that on the most recent post or ones long gone.
What have you read?
So far nothing.
What are you planning to read?
So far nothing is set beyond a Fred Vargas.
Are you taking book recs?
Yes. I can read French and English.
What are you currently reading?
I'll start with one of Fred Vargas' Adamsberg books, either Temps Glaciaires or Pars vite et reviens tard.
